chose to re-design his line of pickup trucks and finally separate
them more from his passenger cars. This pre-war, half-ton and
seldom-seen survivor underwent a complete nut-and-bolt restoration
in 2007. Originally from Oregon, this truck was lovingly store and
cared for by the same owner for the past 18 years! Dressed in
beautiful Lochaven Green over black wings, the truck?s paint and
trim are in overall great condition. The bodywork is straight, the
cargo bed is original steel, has single-wall sides and shows
original spots welds. The truck?s engine bay is extremely tidy, the
chrome bumpers are in excellent shape and the cargo bed has a
corrugated metal floor and is in overall very good order. There?s a
driver?s side windshield wiper. This trucks rolls on Commander wide
whitewall tires, size 6.50-16 at all four corners. Each tire is
mounted on steel wheels with green beauty rings and chrome center
caps. The rings complement the top body color perfectly and the
wheels overall are in very good order while the tires are in good,
original condition. There?s even a side-mounted spare on the
truck?s passenger side. Under the hood is the original 221 CID
24-Stud Flathead V-8 engine (code V8-11A) with a two-barrel
carburetor, married to a three-speed manual transmission. Inside, a
brown bench seat appears excellent. As this was designed as a work
truck, there is no carpeting, but the floor mats present are in
good shape. A black headliner complements the body color and it is
in very good condition. A two-spoke steering wheel faces the driver
while the green metal instrument panel has a full array of gauges
but the temperature gauge is inoperable and the fuel gauge
fluctuates. The dashboard and the matching inner door liners are
all in very good order. The floor-mounted shift lever and an
optional Firestone under-dash heater complete the interior. The ?41
Ford trucks sported mild styling changes ? different parking lamp
lenses, wider hood nose moldings and rectangular nameplates on the
sides of the hood. Instrument cluster graphics were revised and the
V-8 logo was removed from the tailgate while the hubcaps had the
Ford logo on them. The bench seat offered coil springs similar to
those found in contemporary mattresses. If pre-war trucks are in
