Vehicle Description
1967 Pontiac GTO
Why This Car Is Special
The 1967 GTO Convertible that we have here at Skyway Classics
marked the end of the highly successfull and popular first
generation of GTO's that had been sold since 1964.
The GTO with its rakish body, powerful 400 cubic inch engine, and
aggressive ride and handling had become one of the cars to have
back in 1967.
Our GTO is a "real" 242 vin code car and not a copy and it has had
a frame-off restoration done on the original sheet metal, with
everything on the car touched and redone or replaced and it comes
with a ton of documentation and receipts.
Mechanical
This GTO is powered by an era correct YS 400 cubic inch V8 engine
from 1969 rated at 350 horsepower, which has been rebuilt with all
associated parts completely rebuilt, and painted the correct
Pontiac blue shade of paint, has a four barrel carb, correct chrome
vale covers and chrome open-element air cleaner, long tube headers
with a dual exhaust system, and more.
It features power steering and power brakes, air conditioning, a
3.36 Posi Safety Trac 10-bolt rear end, a Turbo 400 automatic
transmission with a Hurst Dual-Gate shifter.
The engine is sitting in a very clean and detailed engine
compartment and the entire car runs and drives great. The underside
of the car is detailed and rock solid, as you would expect.
Interior
This convertible GTO has a new Parchment twin bucket seat interior
with matching door panels and rear bench seat, wood-grain dash and
all the correct factory gauges, Pontiac Sport spoke steering wheel,
Pioneer AM/FM stereo radio system, CD Player and speakers, the
Hurst His/Hers shifter in the factory console, Air Conditioning,
and a white power convertible soft-top.
Exterior
A total professional nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration was
completed on this 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible and has been painted
Regimental Red.
Original parts were sourced or restored where possible, and NOS
parts were purchased as a secondary option. When no other options
were available, aftermarket and reproduction parts were
purchased.
It rides on Cragar chrome SS wheels and BF Goodrich tires but the
original Rallye II wheels come with the GTO also.
Conclusion
This "real" 242 vin code 1967 GTO Convertible we have here at
Skyway Classics is one tough looking muscle car and will always be
a legend in the muscle car world. On top of that is a
no-expense-spared restoration and is a convertible on top of
that.
