This stunning 1978 Trans Am is a classic example of a 70's muscle
car. It was the beneficiary of a full 'on-off' restoration that was
completed in 2019. The Pontiac is a numbers matching Trans AM and
has Pontiac Historical Society (PHS) documentation. It has taken
'Best of Show/Class' at numerous national events since completion.
Our owner is providing receipts, photos, and complete restoration
documentation. The car was sold in Florida at Jack Nicholas Pontiac
and a copy of the window sticker is included in the sale. The owner
states that this is a W72/WS6 Trans AM that is optioned with the
'Trans Am Special Performance Package' that includes a larger
diameter front sway bar, steering box w/tighter ratio, 'Snowflake'
alloy wheels and 400ci Pontiac engine with 8X heads. From a
restoration standpoint, all body components are original except for
new wheel flairs, fiberglass front nose and the 'Shaker' on the
hood. The Trans AM was stripped bare and fully prepped before a
beautiful Martinique Blue finish was applied (original color). All
body components were painted before installation and then finished
on car. A T/A 'Hood-Bird' accents the shaker hood and 15" Trans Am
'snowflake' wheels mount BFG Radial T/A tires. The fully restored
vinyl interior is in new condition including seats, carpeting, new
dash, door panels and headliner - plus every other single detail
you can imagine. Convenience features include new A/C, digital
AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo system w/Kenwood speakers, Nu-Relics power
windows, tilt T/A wheel, new tinted glass and fully refreshed
factory gauge package. The Z-code 6.6L engine (400ci/Pontiac
sourced) was totally rebuilt. It was bored .030 over, fitted with
9.0:1 pistons, a mild flat-tappet Comp Cam (.477/.480 lift), JET
Performance tuned Quadrajet and stock distributor. Exhaust is
routed through factory manifolds to a Pypes X-pipe exhaust system.
Estimated output is 400bhp and is delivered through a built TH350
automatic w/Corvette torque convertor to a rebuilt 10-bolt
posi-traction differential with Eaton 3.23:1 gears. The chassis is
equipped with all-new disc/drum power brakes, rebuilt power
