Vehicle Description
1980 Lincoln Continental Town Car 2-Door Hardtop Coupe
Why This Car Is Special
We have a 1980 Lincoln Continental Town Car 2-Door Hardtop Coupe
here at Skyway Classics that is a beautiful example of 80's Luxury
Cars! It comes in a dark Chamois Metallic color with a matching
brown landau roof and plush leather interior and is powered by a
small block Ford V8, this Lincoln will take you down the road in
comfort!
This version of the Continental would last only for a single model
year.
Mechanical
The engine in our Lincoln is a small block Ford V8 with a 4-speed
Automatic Overdrive Transmission (AOD) which had been developed and
was an industry-first transmission that featured both a
mechanically-engaged overdrive fourth gear and third and
fourth-gear torque converter lock-up.
It sits in the clean and factory stock engine compartment and
retains all the air cleaner, valve covers, power steering and
brakes, air conditioning, ram air induction, and everything that it
came with from the assembly plant back then.
Compared to the 1980 Continental's GM and Chrysler counterparts
this car offered more agile maneuvering, as well as a reduced turn
diameter by over 8 feet compared to the 1979 Lincoln
Continental.
Interior
Our Coupe has the plush tan leather twin bucket seats with armrest
in the front and a matching sofa like seat in the rear along with
one of the most touted options the 1980 Continental offered, the
new digital instrument cluster, which used vacuum fluorescent
displays for the vehicle speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge,
temperature gauge, and trip computer.
Other features include a premium sound AM/FM w/Cassette system,
Digital Gauges, Lighting Off-Delay, Air Conditioning, Cruise
Control, Power Locks, Power Windows, Key-Pad Entry, Power Antenna,
and much more.
Exterior
The Town Car has a nice looking exterior color of a metallic over
the exposed headlights, landau top with the porthole window, and
all the straight looking body panels on this 46,000 mile pampered
Lincoln. Two-door Lincolns can be distinguished from Mark VI
two-doors with their "notchback" roofline.
It rides on matched Lincoln looking wire wheels with thin white
wall tires and has a great ride and handling because the 1980
Continental shed 10 inches of its wheelbase and 14 inches in length
losing nearly 1000 pounds of curb weight.
Conclusion
This 1980 Lincoln Continental Town Car 2-Door Hardtop Coupe we have
here at Skyway Classics is probably one of the nicest Lincoln Town
Coupes you will ever find. It is superb looking and handling and is
a one-owner car with only 46,500 miles on it too.
