Now, this is a very nice '65 GTO! I'm not going to bore you with a history lesson of the GTO, how it got it's name, who's concept it was, etc, etc, etc. Mainly because if you're reading this, you likely know all of those cool points of interest. Furthermore, to explain what a GTO is, and how it's concept-to- existence relates to muscle car history would be like explaining who the Beatles were and how they relate to music history. I'll just give you a little synopsis of this particular GTO. This GTO was treated to a frame-off restoration some years ago, and shows and operates excellently. The restoration has approximately 12K miles since completed, and that does include the rebuild of the engine and transmission. Finished in it's original factory color of Reef Turquoise in a base/coat, clear/coat, it looks fantastic. All of the chrome, and bright work is present and looks great too. The interior is the factory style pattern, is excellent, and compliments the exterior color beautifully, but the original interior color was turquoise

The engine, although not the original starts, runs, and propels the GTO perfectly down the road with classic muscle car strength and sound! Also, there are some nice upgrades such as an Edelbrock carburetor, electronic ignition, and an upgraded cooling system. This combination sounds perfect through the dual exhaust with original style dual chrome tips.

The original 4 speed manual shifts very smoothly, with the assistance of a new clutch, and that's the original Hurst shifter on the floor.

The body panel fitment is excellent, and of course all of the weather-stripping was replaced when the car was painted

All of the above are good and important facts for this GTO, but what really needs to be addressed is how well, and how nice this car runs and drives. This GTO is really easy to drive. From the power steering, ease of the clutch to the smooth shifting transmission, to the deep sounding velvet roar of the engine. No odd squeaks or rattles to complain about, just a solid, clean, good lookin' GTO.
