This is a great 45 year old car, red with a black top and a black interior. It is fun to drive and has 58,460 actual miles on the odometer. Power is from a 1584 cc air cooled flat four engine with electronic fuel injection driving through a four speed manual transmission.
It certainly generates smiles when you drive it. I have had the car for a little over 6 years and put 2300 miles on it. It has been maintained by mechanics who specialize in VW air-cooled engines here in Charlotte. Hoses and gaskets and ignition switch were replaced a couple years ago. The interior is in great shape, seats have been re-padded and look great. I have made some minor improvements but for the most part it is the car I purchased six years ago...like the prior owner, it's been garaged kept.
In the interest of full disclosure the paint is overall good condition but showing its age with minor paint chips on the LH side and rust starting to bubble in the lower rear quarter on the passenger side, not really noticeable. Floor pans have been patched with metal. Black convertible top and boot are in great condition. Additional pictures provided upon request.
Mixed emotions on selling but I need the room in my garage. It's a great car.
