Finished in bold Torch red, this wants all eyes on it the moment it
comes into view. And because this coupe has averaged less than
1,500 miles annually, you can tell there has been great care from
day one. The sharp creases of the "New Edge" styling gives it a
truly aggressive face. Of course, what helps really makes this
outstanding is the aggressive Roush upgrading. The power bulge of
the Cobra hood, deep-dipping front fascia, full body kit, and rear
wing make this look like a racecar for the streets. That's
especially true for the full white stripe kit. It's a comprehensive
package with terrific details, like the 360R in the rockers and how
the stripes are even on the roof. And while a modern Pony car has a
sleek chrome-free appearance, a bold one like this can't resist
some brightwork. That's why you have the polished 18-inch Roush
alloys.
We love black interiors in performance-minded cars, but this one
looks extra special thanks to the red accents on the doors and
seats that coordinate with the exterior. This generation Mustang is
a terrific car, because it delivers a loaded interior in a
driver-focused atmosphere. The dual-cowl dash envelops you while
giving you easy access to the power windows, power locks, power
mirrors, cup holder center console, cruise control, power steering,
premium AM/FM/CD stereo, and factory air condition (will need a
charge to blow full cold again.) There's even nice modern safety
with keyless entry/alarm, dual airbags, and ABS. The power driver's
seat puts you in the ideal position; the leather-wrapped steering
wheel feels great in your hands; and the tilt column to gives you
an excellent view of the full Roush gauge package. There are some
more nice Roush touches, like the billet pedals, a commutative
plaque, short-throw shifter, and of course, Jack Roush's actual
signature on the dash. Items like the brightwork panel covers and
A-pillar gauges are also a nice hint that this one goes even beyond
the performance that Roush offered.
Ford's fuel-injected 4.6-liter V8 is already a great powerplant,
and the Roush Stage 3 treatment only heightens the experience by
adding a supercharger on top. But that' only the beginning of what
makes this one awesome. The masters at MV Performance then
balanced, blueprinted, bored.20 over, and built the motor for added
power. So the whole package has been enhanced and fortified with
ARP studs, a Cobra crank, Crower valve springs, stainless valves,
ModMax H-beam rods, Mod Max 17cc pistons, Comp Cams custom
camshaft, moly file rings, Precision Industries 60 lbs. fuel
injectors, and the aluminum heads custom race ported and
refinished. The supercharger is now a Kenne Bell 2.2 Blowzilla
polished unit. The full package list is much longer, so call for
all the details and receipts on over $100k invested in this special
coupe. So while the original 360R cars got their namesake for
making 360 horsepower, this one is now reported to be putting out
400+ hp! You can even easily switch to run on race gas. And because
this is such an upgraded pony, they also added an extra gear to
really enjoy it. The T56 six-speed was not available this model
year, but now you have this stout unit and a triple-disc clutch.
This feeds an aluminum driveshaft on its way to the stout
limited-slip rear end with 31 spline Moser axles. And don't forget
a premium Roush car also means a performance suspension and a big
four-wheel power disc brakes kit.
