Vehicle Description
Usually you want a 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang for its rarity...but this
one is so much more. It's a restomod with upgraded V8 power,
four-wheel disc brakes, five-speed stick, and a terrific A/C
interior. So, this is exactly how to get the best of everything in
one iconic package.
Everyone is on the lookout for a 1964 1/2 coupe. They have the
appeal of being the first to launch this iconic American. This one
really does set the tone right with a well-done application that
looks quite close to Smoked Silver Metallic (one of the colors
first available on this pony car.) The car was completed in 2016
and there has only been about 1,400 miles put on it since. So, the
paint has a fresh shine the complements the bumpers and brightwork.
Plus, there's a ton of sporty GT-style appeal with the fog lights
in the grille, GT badging, and the dual exhaust tips poking out of
the rear valance. And we especially love the mix of premium and
performance with the triple rocker stripe that coordinates with the
vinyl roof. The final touch are those modern Cobra-style 17-inch
polished alloys. They both coordinate with the car's shine and
offer a clue to this coupe's upgraded performance.
Inside the black and silver two-tone is quite inviting. The
carpets, door panels, and dash all have benefited from an
investment during restoration that makes them feel quite fresh. And
we all love the premium pony package on the seatbacks. There's a
nice classic look with the center console and plenty of wood-like
trim on the dash and steering wheel. You even have the
classic-style air conditioning system, but now it's blowing cold
with modern R134a. Other well-integrated upgraded include an AM/FM
digital tuner and the GT-style round gauge package now has digital
readouts. And have you counted the gears on the shifter yet?
Under the hood of this Ford icon is another blue oval legend: the
351 cubic-inch V8. The Mustang only got this motor from the factory
at the end of the 1960s when the Mustang went to war with the
muscle cars. But because it's part of the first-gen's history, we
especially love seeing it under the hood of this rare first-year
coupe. Plus, the muscle car feeling continues with upgrades like a
mild cam, Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor w/electric choke,
Edelbrock intake, polished Ford Motorsport valve covers, and shorty
headers feeding the dual exhaust. It's the kind of total power
package that lets this one really earn its GT-style appearance. The
Tremec T56 five-speed gives you more gears than the factory ever
did, so you really get to harness the full power of this upgraded
pony car. Add in power steering, modern ZR-rated tires, and
four-wheel disc brakes, and you get to enjoy this upgraded Mustang
to the fullest.
This is the rare Mustang coupe that's also your restomod dream.
