1956 Buick Special. Rare Riviera 4-door hardtop model (Code 4439).
Recent, very attractive Turquoise and Ivory colors. No rust
surviver to start with. Dry trunk, floor, frame and body mounts.
Came from a great home and Buick Club member, we just traded for a
classic he always wanted. Expensive re-chromed front and rear
bumpers, headlight and even new big tail light bezels (tail light
bezels were $500 alone). Re-chromed, cool, iconic "airplane" hood
ornament. All other stainless excellent. All glass excellent.
101,855 actual miles, so only average of 1891 miles/year. Also
actual miles shown on title in 2003 at 93,820 (so last 17 years
only averaged 471 miles/year, so good to get exercised every year).
Excellent professional finish done in base coat/clear coat for that
wet shiny look. Recent expensive white sidewall radials ($250
each). Drives sweet and way better than bias belts. Stock iconic
fireball V8 nailhead motor with 4 BL carb and very desirable power
steering and automatic. Converted to 12 volt with alternator for
better starting and brighter lights. Nice, clean engine and engine
bay. Motor has original motor emblems. Original air cleaner and
original washer bottle with its original stickers. Big horsepower
improvement in these 1956's: 1954 V8 (264 ci / 143 hp) 1955 V8 (264
ci / 188 hp) 1956 V8 (322 ci / 220 hp + 10 more 4 BL =230 hp)
Recently restored interior with even new carpet. Wow! Dash and
steering wheel have no cracks, shows pride of ownership and always
garaged, maintained and pampered. All gauges are clean and even
fuel gauge works well as do the inside and outside lights.
Converted to electric wipers. Drives/looks/runs sweet. She is ready
to show off and enjoy right off our fast, safe and cheap delivery
