The Ferrari 575M continued a return of the classic Ferrari GT with the engine in the front and a rear transaxle drive, V12 motor and 6 speed manual transmission. The 575M, and its predecessor the 550M, revived Ferrari's long tradition of high-performance grand touring cars also breed for success on the racetrack. There was a 25-year gap between the introduction of the 550M in 1996 and one of the greatest GTs of all time, the fabulous 365 GTB/4 Daytona.

The front engine and rear wheel drive create a more spacious and comfortable interior compared to the Ferrari's mid-engine models. So the front engine makes sense for a fast touring car. Not only does it boast a V12 to give the owner a sense of pure driving control, this 575M also has the rare 6 speed manual transmission instead of the flappy paddles found on most 575M.
