Vehicle Description
This 1972 Chevrolet El Camino SS 454 is a real-deal Super Sport
that has its numbers-matching LS5 big block. Plus, with upgrades
like the overdrive transmission and desirable triple-black
presentation, this is truly your full wish list in one muscle
machine.
This El Camino has an instant presence. The black paint has a nice
gloss to it that highlights the good body panels, and at the same
time, gives this true Super Sport a true performance look. And this
has all your other favorite SS pieces, including the dual hood
stripes, hood pins, a true cowl induction hood, complete SS
badging, blackout grille & rear, and correct Super Sport wheels.
More than just the sporty pieces, you'll love all the details, like
the form-hugging chrome bumpers, bright trim, and a newer black
vinyl roof. And we especially like hint of bold color from the
redline tires.
The full black interior completes the ultra-desirable triple-black
upgrades (paint, roof, and upholstery.) There have been some more
recent investments in key places like the seat covers and carpeting
to make sure this is a nice place to spend some time. There's also
an upgraded AM/FM/cassette stereo. This appears to be a factory air
conditioning car. It was switched to modern R134a, but it will need
servicing before blowing ideally cold again. The dual-spoke SS
steering wheel feels grippy in your hands, and it gives you a clear
view to the round gauge package that includes the large speedo and
tach.
Under the hood is the numbers-matching LS5. This ultra-desirable
motor with the correct VIN numbers means you have a real-deal Super
Sport. And because this is so significant, they know you're going
to want to lift the hood wherever you park. That's why the full
presentation is tidy and quite correct - right down to details,
like the decals on the valve covers and the Quadrajet four-barrel
carb. The air grabber even fits into the cowl induction hood. But
while the top end looks factory, the undercarriage photos reveal
this one is hiding some terrific upgrades. The Hooker headers
feeding the H-pipe exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers means the big
V8 has extra power and a terrific sound. The transmission has been
upgraded to a 700R4 unit, which means a stout construction now
meets overdrive comfort. Plus, you have power steering and power
brakes w/discs up front. There's also newer pieces like the
bushings, fuel tank, rear air shocks, and sway bars front & rear
all to make this a fine driver.
This is the triple-black Super Sport that was made for you to truly
enjoy. So don't let this total package classic slip away. Call
