The car presented here is a very original and well maintained 1970 280SL presented in Silver over Black Leather, a combination which is original to the car. This 280 SL is a documented two owner car and was first purchased by a E.K. Ernest in Florida, and later on NYC. In 1972 the car was sold to Gail Kendall, who we recently purchased the car from. The car has a fully filled out Mercedes Service booklet and every service record from new indicating it was always serviced at a Mercedes dealership, or with Mercedes Specialist Manfred at Rheinland Motors. The car was carefully maintained decade after decade getting everything it needed, including a fully working A/C system. Totaled all together, over $150,000 has been spent maintaining this car properly throughout the years. The car received a fully rebuilt engine from Metric Motors roughly 25,000 documented miles ago and runs beautifully, and is among the best 280SLs we've driven.  All the panels are matching with correct stampings on the hood, decklid, and hard top. Amazingly, the car came to us with its original soft top, which while aged, is still in curiously good condition, and can be included if so desired. A new Soft Top has been installed and the original can be included. It has never been used. The interior is gorgeous, with new leather seats, with an original radio and all working instruments and gauges. The car comes with its matching hardtop, original soft top, tool kit, books and records.
