front windshield Ford?s Model A came in nearly as many aftermarket
variants as there were factory models. This particular example, a
huckster, was previously owned by the Marie Nordquist family, who
own Marie?s Salad Dressing. Hucksters made great farm utility
trucks and vehicles for commercial deliveries. The Marie?s Company
commissioned Jon Van Lente of Lentville A?s in Holland, Michigan to
fully restore this rolling beauty, which was then used for
promotional opportunities and trade shows. Dressed in Straw Yellow
over black wings and featuring a black rubberized roof, the paint
and trim on this vehicle are in the expected excellent condition
after restoration. The entire body has kiln-dried select red
oakwood as its foundation and the bed frame uses high-quality
Douglas fir wood to soak up vibrations. The glass includes safety
glass in both side doors and a pop-out windshield and dual sideview
mirrors. Common for the period, there are a driver?s side taillight
and windshield wiper. The car?s bodywork is straight and solid as
you?d expect, the engine bay is extremely tidy, and the cargo area
looks fantastic! A full set of side and rear roll-up windows that
snap on help complete the look, along with the chrome dual-band
front bumper. This classy A rolls on wide whitewall Coker B.F.
Goodrich tires, size 4.40-4.50-21. Each one is mounted on a new
Ford red wire wheel. The wheels are in excellent condition while
the tires are in very good order. There is also a driver?s
side-mounted older spare tire with matching wire wheel and factory
cover. Under the split hood is a 201 CID L-head four-cylinder
engine hooked to a three-speed sliding gear manual transmission.
The factory generator has been upgraded to an alternator. Inside,
the truck?s saddle bench seat looks superb while there are floor
mats covering the wood in the cab. The wooden headliner is
gorgeous, and a black, four-spoke steering wheel faces the driver.
The wooden inner door liners complement the Straw Yellow metal
instrument panel, which is pretty. A floor-mounted shift lever
completes the interior. This Model A is one of the prettiest ones
we have had here at MotoeXotica Classic Cars. If you collect Fords
or Model As or if you?re looking for your next rolling billboard,
you owe it to yourself to check out this Huckster. Stop by today!
