Vehicle Description
1956 Ford F100 Pickup
Whether you like them or not there is no denying that the F-series
of pickup trucks has to be one of the most successful vehicle lines
ever created. Starting way back in 1948 and still being produced
today in their 13th generation these trucks have continued to be
highly popular and one of Fords biggest successes. Back in the 50's
the second generation of F-series pickups was introduced and ended
in 1957 making the very clean '56 you see here one of the last of
its bodystyle. Before we even get started on the details this
Pickup is definitely one to check out. It is extremely clean and
has a lot of really neat components that all work together to
create the very nice show piece that it is. The truck was fully
restored in California and has racked up only 10,750 miles since
being finished so it is still very fresh. The body is in great
shape with zero rust throughout. The bright Blue color is very eye
catching and was laid down very well. It has a nice slick finish
with no evidence of bad prep work. The truck features a very nice
combo of originality with tasteful customizations. It has its
original chrome grill, headlights and chrome front bumper. That
being said it has been stripped of its emblems for a very clean
look. In place of the side emblems for the hood very nice
pinstriping was laid down to pay homage to the originals while also
being very modern. In back the rear bumper has been removed and a
custom roll pan created with a frenched license plate. Custom LED
taillights were also added in billet bezels. The bed of the truck
has been redone with nice new wood boards and painted to match
strips. Some modifications have been done to allow room for a wider
rear tire and the center chunk of the Ford 9" rear end since the
truck has been slightly lowered. If you look closely at the
woodgrain you will also note a slightly bluish tint in certain
places which is a very neat way of tying it all together. All of
the glass is in great condition and it does have the big back
window which is the more rare of the options available for these
trucks. They also modified the side windows to make them 1 piece
and eliminate the quarter windows. This both improves your field of
vision and really cleans up the side profile. The running boards
are painted to match the rest of the body and the chrome/Black
strips are a very nice touch. The truck has a great stance being
slightly lowered to improve the look from stock but not being too
low to impede your driving in anyway. It rides on American Racing
Torq Thrust wheels but custom smoothed center caps were added so
they are very clean and free of any branding.
The hood on the truck is a very cool forward tilting system. You
open it, pull it slightly forward and then it tilts forward out of
place. It is a very cool custom look while still giving you full
access to work on the motor as needed. It certainly doesn't need
any work currently though because the 351 Cleveland runs extremely
well. It is nicely dressed up with plenty of chrome and billet
pieces plus the Ford Motorsport valve covers have the lettering
painted the body color for a consistent complete look. The
transmission is a C6 automatic which is a 4 speed system with
overdrive. Whether you are cruising around town or down the highway
this Pickup performs flawwlessly. It has a Hydroboost power brake
system with discs up front as well as power steering so driving it
is a breeze. The ride is very smooth with a Valero front end and
adjustable coil overs in rear. Underneath its mounted a stainless
steel tank with the fuel door being accessed by lifting a hinged
section of one the wood slats in the bed. The dual exhaust system
delivers a nice rumble and bumps right under the rear roll pan.
The interior uses a combination of leather, cloth and painted steel
panels. It has a very nice custom but also clean look while
incorporating all the functionality you could ask for. The modern
high back bucket seats each have a center arm rest and 3 point seat
belts. The door panels also feature and arm rest and the door
handles were hidden and tucked away. The custom center console
houses the Lokar shifter, a custom LED gear indicator, power window
controls, Vintage AC/Heat controls, very nice adjustable AC vents
and a Boss AM/FM/CD player (Amp mounted behind seat). The dash is
painted a matching Blue and features white face VDO gauges in a
chrome bezel. The rest of the dash has been kept very clean. Custom
panels were made for an underdash section and extend all the way to
the floor which hides away all of the electrical that keeps
everything working properly. The polished tilt column incorporates
the turn signal controls, hazard lights and is topped off with a
Boyd leather wrapped steering wheel. Also mounted to the column is
a VDO tachometer.
This Pickup is a very high end build that is just looking for a new
place to call home. It needs nothing and is sure to be a hit with
any vintage Truck fans out there. You couldn't build it over again
for asking price and it is so well cared for it looks like it was
just finished. Now is your chance to get for a fraction of what you
would invest to restore/customize one on your own.
This unique F100 could be yours for only $43,750.00!
