The Datsun 240Z is a quickly appreciating star in the collector car
world. In its day, the 240Z almost single handedly wiped out the
British sports car industry. Like so many other great cars, the
original design was the purest and subsequent variants became
bloated with more size, weight, and features that arguably
diminished the original. Although many were produced, time and the
elements sent most to the scrapyards. While it's not terribly
difficult to find a nice restored 240Z, original survivors are far
and few between. This is one of those survivors and for the
enthusiast who treasures original cars that have escaped the
ravages of time and abuse, we're pleased to offer this great
example. We have been over the car with a paint depth meter and
with exception of some prior paintwork on the rear quarters, this Z
checks out as still wearing 80% or more of its original paint. That
include the doors, front fenders, hood and top section. The
interior upholstery is original to the car and while not without
some faults is still serviceable. We brought it back to life with
some modest recommissioning work that included rebuilding the
carburetors. It's a blast to drive. It starts, runs, steers, and
stops in fine fashion. The clutch is smooth and transmission shifts
easily without grinding. If you like the idea of preserving a great
