HIGHLIGHTS: Clean old unrestored survivor! Hard to find unrestored!
Fun, affordable cruiser!
BODY OVERVIEW: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the body
on this Torino will take some enthusiasts a few moments to
appreciate. This is an unrestored car that has trundled on through
life without taking a break. While there are dents, dings, and
scratches that this Torino GT has acquired in its travels, the body
is incredibly solid and would be very receptive to a full
restoration.
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: Much like the body, the paint is
certainly showing its age. This is either original paint, or a very
old repaint. Make no mistake, this car could be enjoyed as is, but
like the body the paint condition is a testament to how much
enjoyment others have gotten out of this car over the years.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: Just like the rest of the car, the
interior is showing wear from age and use, but is mostly intact and
would be a great starting point for a restoration. The interior is
believed to be largely original, and considering the age of the car
it really isn't in terrible condition. The convertible top appears
to have been replaced somewhat recently and is in excellent
condition.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under the hood, this car shows signs of
maintenance in recent years. The 302 runs great, fires right up,
and this car is very enjoyable to drive! This car drives twice as
good as it looks! With a few tweaks, this Torino could be made into
a reliable cruiser.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The fact that it has not been
restored, and how solid it is throughout.
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: While it has a lot of good
things going for it, it is a long way from being a show car.
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? Unless your goal is to cruise it as-is, this
Torino needs a lot of cosmetic work, but mechanically it seems very
sound. The brakes will need to be adjusted or replaced soon.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? This car appeals to a wide
demographic of enthusiasts. Whether you're looking for a solid base
to start a high-dollar restoration, or an affordable convertible to
tool around town in during the summer, this Torino would be a great
candidate!
