Vehicle Description
This beautiful 1937 Ford Cabriolet is striking at first glance, and
invites a closer look. The Downs Industries Fiberglass body
features a spectacular lift-off top with a 3-inch chop for a
perfect blend of hot rod attitude and elegance. It's professionally
finished with a tan cloth cover. The fit and finish is absolutely
top tier. Mark Gissendaner of GIS Automotive near Pittsburgh PA
applied the lush PPG custom mix Seafoam Green metallic paint. He
also made custom hood hinges and crafted the flush mount taillights
and center brake light. Body prep was lovingly and painstakingly
performed by the previous owner and friends. Albert's Chrome
Plating in Rural Ridge PA handled the brightwork. There's a luxury
feel to the interior with leather throughout -- in a handsome cream
color to compliment the paint. A modern leather-covered custom dash
houses Dakota digital gauges. Hot Rod Air provided the air
conditioning, heating, and defrost system. Power seats from a 2002
Chrysler Sebring have offset look headrests and integrated shoulder
harness guides. They fit the car perfectly and add a rich custom
look, along with thick wool carpeting. There's a second row bench
seat as well. A 330 horsepower 350 cubic inch small block with
Street & Performance fuel injection is responsive and reliable.
Stainless steel exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers enhances
performance and sound quality. A column shifted 700R4 automatic
smoothly transmits the torque to a 9-inch Ford third member. A
sure-footed feel comes via the power rack steering and the TCI
independent front suspension with adjustable coil over shocks. The
tilt steering column is chrome with a billet steering wheel. A
Clarion stereo head and a 6-CD changer mounted in the center
console feeds the tunes to powerful Kicker speakers. More
electronic goodness comes courtesy of a Dakota Digital keyless
entry, power trunk, power door openers with remote, power windows
(with gray tint), and even power windows (with gray tint). Dave
Marchase of Ron Francis Wire Works wired it all together. The car
comes with a spec sheet and receipts documenting the fine quality
of this one-of-a-kind build. It's a fully sorted-out street rod
ready for you to jump in and go. Maxmotive is pleased to offer this
