For Sale: 1984 AMC Eagle in Jefferson, Wisconsin

Vehicle Description

This car was not sold by an AMC Dealership.  As the Original Window Decal denotes, it was delivered to Corporate AMC.  This car was ordered and driven by an AMC Executive.

By the time the car was four years old, AMC was defunct.  It had become part of the Chrysler Corporation.  When the Executive retired, he was allowed to keep the car.  He moved to Arizona for his retirement and the car went with him.

This car was very nicely equipped.  It has the bullet-proof AMC 258 cubic inch inline six cylinder engine and an automatic transmission.  It has the “Select Drive” four-wheel drive option.

It has great features including power steering and brakes, front disc brakes, power locks, Air Conditioning, cruise control, AM/FM stereo and Electronic Ignition.  Both outside mirrors have inside remote control.  The glass is tinted.  The steering column tilts.  It has Rear Defroster, inside hood release, Quartz clock and Trailer towing package.  Other packages include Light Group, Protection Group and Convenience Group.

The beautiful interior is a combination of color coordinated vinyl and woven cloth.  The front seats are reclining buckets.  The interior color matches the exterior color.

This car still displays its original finish to Garnet Metallic.  The paint shined up nicely.  There are a few areas where door dings were touched up and a few small touched up scratches.  There is no rust.  The original color coordinated vinyl roof is in great condition and is basically flawless.

When new, this car was undercoated.  There is a light layer of surface rust on some areas of the chassis, but there certainly is no significant rust.  It is perfectly solid throughout the unibody, the floors and the body mounts.

In addition to the afore mentioned Original Window Decal, this car carries its original Owner’s documents including the warranty booklet.  It is evident that it has always been cared for and cherished.

Recent maintenance to the car includes new exhaust, new struts, new shocks, rebuilt brakes and new tires.  The most recent owner purchased it for summer time cruising and display.  He actually lived very close to the location of American Motors headquarters.

There are two sets of keys that actuate all locks.  The original spare has never been used, nor has the jack.  They are both stowed properly in the trunk.

The air conditioning works properly, however, at this time, it needs some additional R12 freon to cool.  The heater core has been bypassed, so I assume it leaked.  The Cruise Control is not functioning.  All other features of this car function properly.  It is safe and reliable.

This car has been given every opportunity to survive.  It was undercoated when new, it was Executive Driven, it spent many years in Arizona.  Now it is collectible.  It is completely original and in great condition.01160-A
