Vehicle Description

1929 Ford Pickup

With the huge success of the Model T for 18 years, Ford was looking towards the next big automotive breakthrough. The answer came in 1928 with the Model A. These cars proved to be just as big of a success not only new but even later down the road when the Street Rod trend started emerging. This 1929 Model A Closed Cab Pickup has a great look and drives great. It is an older build that has continued to be improved upon as time goes on. It has had the same owner for the past 37 years which is pretty amazing as often as some of these cars change homes. It has a long history in the Street Rod world and has even driven across the country not once, but twice. The bulk of the car is all originally Henry Ford steel but fiberglass fenders have been added. It is painted in a very nice Red Metallic paint that looks great. It is set up to be a nice driver so there are a few typical chips/scratches from use but other than that it is rust free and still shows very well. It has the original style Black vinyl top and a Black visor like it would have originally. Up front is the chrome radiator shell along with the headlight bar which is also an original style feature. The truck does a great job of combining vintage originality with some modern features which is what Street Rodding is all about. The bed has been redone in Oak with stainless strips and looks great. It comes with a removable storage box for the beds so you have plenty of room to store tools or whatever you may need for those long journeys. The wire wheels have a great shine and with taller rear tires the truck has a slight forward rake.

Keeping with the brand loyalty the truck is propelled down the road by a 302 V8 motor. As we mentioned before the truck was originally built a while back but over time has seen a large number of improvements. One of these is the motor that was installed less than 600 miles ago. It really is the truck that keeps on rolling. The motor is bored .30 over and features an Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock heads, a mild cam, ceramic coated Hooker headers and Holley 600 cfm carburetor. It has also been dressed up with a chrome air cleaner and Ford motorsport valve covers. A Walker radiator keeps the truck running cool along with the dual electric fans. The dual exhaust system delivers a great sound and exits through Magnaflow mufflers out of the rear. The transmission is an automatic with overdrive that shifts well and has 2,000 miles on it. It transfers power back to the narrowed Duthman Mustang GT 8.8 rear end with 3:73 gears that itself only has 10,000 miles on it. So the drivetrain was just redone giving this truck life for many miles and many more years down the road. The chassis and suspension has also been gone through and redone less than 15,000 miles ago. This includes a Hi-Tec chassis, TCI independent front suspension, 2 inch drop spindles, and Aldan coil overs. The brakes have also been been converted to discs under all 4 corners. Other nice upgrades include a Ron Francis wiring system, 16 gallon saddle tanks and the fuel door is relocated to the cab corner.

The interior is a combination of matching Red and Grey. It has dual bucket seats with Red vinyl, with Red carpeting, and Grey door panels. To the floor is a Lokar shifter that moves through the gears smoothly. The dash is painted to match the body and topped with with Classic gauges and LED indicators. Under the dash on the passengers side is an aftermarket AM/FM/CD player. An Ididit tilt column has been added and is painted to match and includes a column dimmer switch and turn signal lever. A woograin steering wheel with painted horn button tops that all off and looks great. Prior to the interior being done Hushmat insulation was installed which helps keep the interior cab quieter and keeps the heat out.

This cool Model A street rod truck has a lot going for it and with a bunch of fresh components is ready for the next show or long cruise. If you are looking for an affordable street rod that you can hop in and go, this may be the one.

It could be yours for the very reasonable price of $32,500.00!
