Vehicle Description
An awesome color combo, nearly-impossibly low mileage, and all the
right creature comforts are some of the headlines for this 2001
Dodge Viper GTS. But the reason why you really want this
collector-grade example is because it still knows how to unleash
the full force of is 450hp V10 at a moment's notice.
Dodge offered special colors with the Viper, and this Viper Race
Yellow was rarely found on the palette. In fact, there were less
than 550 completed in this generation during the color's short
two-year run. That's why it's so special to have this factory paint
appear all original and in such nice condition. The shine is also
exceptional thanks to a recent ceramic coating. It has averaged
only about 300 miles annually, and you can tell this Viper GTS was
babied all its life. The panels have an excellent fit, the wheels
have a mirror-like shine, and the overall impression is that this
one didn't leave the garage for anything but very special
occasions. But we know you won't be able to resist adding to the
ultra-low odometer. After all, this has a sleek look of a slingshot
that just begs to be let loose on your favorite roads. Heck, this
is even ready for the track with a roof designed to accommodate
racing helmets and factory racing stripes.
Those exterior stripes remind us how good black looks against a
vibrant yellow, and so you'll also really love the all-black
interior. And low mileage meant there was little time to dirty the
carpet or even put a crease in the leather seats. We love the these
2nd gen Vipers, because they add comforts without losing that
raucous sports car feel. So you get great features like power
windows, power locks, keyless entry/alarm, cruise control, an
AM/FM/CD changer stereo, and cold-blowing air conditioning. There
are even nice safety features like dual front airbags and anti-lock
brakes. But the full feeling isn't really a coddler. The extra
bolstering of the sport seats, bold white-faced gauges, and
confident mechanical action of the stick shift are a reminder that
this is for real drivers.
Tilt the large hood forward, and there's no mistaking the Viper's
gorgeous red cast aluminum intake manifold and valve covers. And
the ultra-low mileage means everything else also looks crisp and
clean on this numbers-matching motor. The 8.0-liter V10, is what
legends are made of when churning out a whopping 450 hp and 490
lb-ft of torque. You get complete control of this via six-speed
manual transmission, power steering, and a race-inspired fully
independent suspension. Plus, four-wheel disc brakes and grippy
ZR-rated tires (new rear ones) are exactly what you want for
stopping power. While all of this keeps the Viper nicely planted on
everything from the back roads to the racetrack, you are pure
intimidation just standing still thanks to roar of the dual
exhaust.
Complete with the owner's manual, this is an exceptionally
preserved and bold speed machine ready for a true enthusiast
