For Sale: 1967 Ford Mustang in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

1967 Mustang - True Survivor!

For your consideration is a true survivor ’67 Mustang V-8 Auto.  Its interesting to see how the classic car community has pivoted a bit over the past 10 or so years. Once the most desirable collector car to have was that fully restored perfect car that should live in a protective bubble to maintain its perfection.  Now the people want to actually have an investment and use it too.  Barn finds, garage finds and survivors are really heating up the current market.  This is happening for a few reasons.  One being that they are only original once, the story that comes with the car and the other is usability (this car checks all of those boxes by the way).   What is a survivor?  A survivor is a largely original or unrestored car.  Usually a car with an original drive train, original interior, and over 75% of its original paint.  There’s a particular charm to unrestored “survivor” cars; whether due to nostalgia for a far-gone era or just the excitement of recognizing a car’s full potential underneath a thick layer of dust and not paint.  The time-capsule feeling evoked by unrestored cars is something special.  A survivor may not be absolutely perfect, therefore you don’t have to be afraid to actually use the car.  Also, when a car remains in its stock un-restored form, you don’t have to guess at what someone has done in the past.  A survivor is the way it was when it left the factory.

This 1967 Mustang Coupe is in fact a survivor.  One long term owner, until recent.  A true survivor.  Fully documented, all paperwork including dealer paper work and window sticker.  Below I will run through the condition of the car in detail.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate in asking!

Mechanical:  In unrestored condition, the engine, transmission, rear end and the components of the car are original.  The engine runs VERY strong with no issues.  Having an engine that hasnt been apart is a great thing.  It runs just the way it should and the way it did from Ford.  The engine is nice and dry, there are no noticeable leaks.  The transmission shifts very nice and firm.  No slipping, leaking or issues.  Brakes, tune up and fluids are all fresh.  Redline radial tires add to the cars driveabilty and appearance.  If you were thinking, shouldn’t this survivor have a bias ply tire if its mostly original.  Well, you get the original tires that came on the car from the factory.  That’s right, the original tires come with the car.  Clearly they are dry and not usable, but a cool talking point to add to its survivorship!   This car runs, shifts, stops steers and handles very properly.  It is original but all maintainable parts have been serviced!

Exterior:  The paint is largely original on the car.  The rear 1/4 panels have some older paint blending.  It may have been from some scratches in the past.  The paint is measuring evenly so its not from any major repair or rust.  Over all the paint looks good.  The paint is 54 years old so it is a little dull and does have some blemishes here and there.  The photos are large and will reveal any cosmetic issues that are present. The bumpers, glass, trim, all body components, most of the paint and all of the vinyl roof is original.

Interior: Unrestored, in great shape and all black!  The interior is 100% original.  The seats are in great shape, the dash has no cracks, door panels, headliner and all upholstery is great condition.  There are some scuff marks on the door sill plates and the original carpet does have some slight fading due to age.  Carpet can be dyed, and sill scuff plates can be polished.  All of the gauges and lights work as they should.  The car is a clock and radio delete car.

Underside:  With no signs of alteration, accidents or rust, the underside of this ’67 is what you can expect from an unrestored car.  The exhaust has been replaced at some point in time with a stock/OEM style exhaust.

This Mustang is so original, it should draw more attention that a restored example.  If your looking for a great survivor to use, show and invest in, this is your car!

An appraisal and mechanical assessment are available upon request.
