Vehicle Description
You're going to love looking over every inch of this 1969 Pontiac
Firebird because there is a terrific color-coordinated style
everywhere (including the undercarriage!) And everything else -
from the well-done interior to the strong V8 power - all give you
the impression of an all-around quality build.
Let's start with what immediately grabs your attention, the paint.
Pontiac fans know this is Carousel Red, and the rest of us know
this as GM's iconic Hugger Orange. It's a genuine '69 Pontiac
color, but you've never seen it like this before. There has been so
much invested in painting it from end-to-end you'll swear you're
looking at a candy-coated Firebird. It's obvious this coupe was
built for show, and so a huge investment in the best panel fit and
straightest sheetmetal was made before the primer even went onto
the body. Competing with the paint for shine is the outstanding
brightwork in places like around the headlights, the beak-like
front bumper, and the stylish rear bumper. There are iconic sporty
touches like the dual hood scoops, tachometer mounted on the hood,
and full-width rear spoiler. Plus, there's added performance style
with the black hood stripes, large polished dual exhaust tips, and
cool set of Sport Muscle 15-inch wheels.
Inside is another place where the custom look of the restoration is
absolutely evident. We bet what you instantly noticed how the bold
exterior paint was custom applied to the glove box lid, steering
column, and three-spoke sports steering wheel. But while this has a
bold look, it's also surrounded by quality pieces. The black vinyl
on the seats, door panels, and headliner feel like today is 1969.
There's nice wood-like paneling on the center console that also
matches the texture surrounding the gauges and AM/FM/cassette
stereo. And as you look at the controls, you'll see a setup-for
factory-style air conditioning. This has been converted to modern
R134a, and it will need a servicing before blowing ideally cold
again.
The engine bay has a show-ready look with color-matched inner walls
and a ton of upgraded brightwork (even the hood hinges are artfully
bright!) And there were thousands $$$$ invested about 4k miles ago
rebuilding the engine, so it's much more than just the show-worthy
shine. This is a performance-built 350 cubic-inch motor that has
upgrades such as an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and ProComp
high-rise intake. The V8 fires up eagerly, idles smoothly, and
makes a nice rumble from the dual exhaust. But when you look at
those stainless pipes in the pictures, something else grabs your
attention. The full undercarriage, suspension components, and even
the traction bars are painted orange/red. This is absolutely the
kind of appearance that wins big awards. But don't be afraid to
drive it to the car shows. With features such as power steering,
three-speed automatic transmission, and power brakes w/discs up
front, this Firebird was built to be just as much a Saturday night
cruiser as it is a Sunday show winner.
Here's an exceptionally clean and custom build that even includes
the restoration receipts and factory buildsheet. We know you've
been doing a mental tally, and so you know the paint and bodywork
alone would cost you more than this Firebird is asking. So no
matter if you call it orange or red, you'll be green with envy if
you miss out on this deal. Call today!!!
