Vehicle Description
Price slashed! This pristine and beautiful boat spent most of its
life near Tahoe City CA at Agate Bay. The current owner found it
while attending the famous Garwood's Concourse d' Elegance
purchasing it in 2013. The boat is entirely original except for:
the seating pads and carpeting were redone in Haze White with a kit
purchased from Century Boats (little doubt the original red
upholstery got quite hot in the sun); the 385 horsepower 454 ci V8
was entirely rebuilt (925 hours ago); original teak swim platform
was replaced with a new fiberglass one (original comes with it).All
of the fiberglass interior full cover Bimini top trim and hardware
are in excellent condition as is the 1994 Sport Boat Trailers 21'
tandem trailer.Century Boats is a 95-year-old Florida leading
builder of racing and pleasure boats. In the 1950s Century boats
were used in two Hollywood films and Century Boats grew to 343
authorized dealers nationwide. In the late 1960s Century began
creating fiberglass hulls for the first time. The 1970s brought an
era of production innovation and efficiency and Century Boats began
to expand its parts sales and marketing departments.By the late
1960's and early 1970's the fiberglass boat business was growing
quickly and the modern designs were beginning to take shape for
both Century and Chris-Craft. The Muscle Car Era was peaking in
terms of popularity and horsepower and the boat builders were also
focused on performance with the availability of big V-8 horsepower
engines from the automotive manufacturers. In 2011 Woody Boater did
a Shoot Out article between two experts to determine the best "Big
Gun" fiberglass runabout from the early 1970's. Kind of like one of
those Ford vs Chevy battles you hear about. This was a battle
between the Century Arabian 19 and the Chris-Craft XK19 both with
big American made V8's. One of the experts said "The Mighty Century
Arabian is a man's boat and attracts women because of it's
'Manliness'."A link to the full article is below.Highly respected
