Vehicle Description
1988 RED CHEVROLET CAMARO IROC Z
Why Is This Car Special
In 1988 the IROC-Z package proved popular and the package became
standard on Z28s. This resulted with two models remaining, the base
coupe and the IROC-Z. The Camaro we have here at Skyway Classics is
in a great color combo of red with black interior and convertible
top.
Mechanical Specs
Output for the 5.0 liter Tuned Port Injection V8 increased to 230
horsepower and ours still has the original finned valve covers, ram
air filter system, TPI injection, as well as power steering and
brakes, air conditioning, and looks to be as original as the day it
left the plant it was built in.
Road & Track magazine in 1988 test drove a 5.0 liter TPI V8 IROC-Z
and obtained a 0-60 mph time of 6.9 seconds and a quarter mile time
of 15.4 seconds at 91.5 mph.
Factory IROC Mags with performance black wall tires and a dual
exhaust fill out the complete package on this IROC-Z.
Interior
Our IROC has the grey cloth bucket seat interior and carpet that it
came with new and is offset by the factory black dash with the
correct gauge package, center console and the console shifted
6-speed shifter, grey carpet, matching rear seats, black factory
sport steering wheel, and the dash badges on the IROC still read
"Z28" on top and "IROC-Z" below.
It has full power inside too with power seats, locks, windows, and
the black convertible top to boot.
Exterior
The IROC-Z is painted in a vibrant red shade and has been treated
to a set of twin body length black racing stripes all the way from
the bottom of the front spoiler to the back of the rear spoiler. It
has "IROC-Z" logos on the ground effects on the doors and on the
rear bumper.
Conclusion
These IROC-Z Camaros, like the Camaro we have here at Skyway
Classics are a collectable model that will not be returning anytime
soon, so you can bet your money that this 1988 Chevrolet Camaro
IROC Z we have at Skyway Classics is a valuable car to
purchase.
