Vehicle Description
Up for sale or trade is a very solid 1969 Lincoln Mark III ! This
car has very little rust, and has a very healthy 460 (365 HP!) and
C6 automatic trans. The interior is in exceptional condition,
considering it is original, and 41 years old! The car drives very
well, with no wandering, or pulling from the front end, the exhaust
(factory dual) is still quiet, all the lights, except the turn
signals, work (probably a flasher, I will be looking tomorrow) and
the hideaway headlights work when the car is running! The brakes
stop the car OK, but the pedal is a little low. The AC compressor
kicks in and runs quietly when you turn on the AC, but it has no
freon in the system. This car sat for 3 years, two of them in a
garage, the last year was outside, unfortunately. The original
owner passed in 2017. The worst rust is in the decklid (like ALL
these Lincolns ! ) and there is minor rust in the quarters, a small
area by the left headlight on the header panel, easy fix, and two
small spots in the trunk weather strip channel. The floors,
rockers, and trunk floor are all solid, the padded vinyl roof needs
to be replaced, and there doesn't seem to be any major rust under
it, it still feels solid all around. Only one window is working,
but at least it's the driver window! Lol. the driver power seat
works, I haven't tried the passenger side yet. The tires have good
tread, but are old and dry rotted and will need to be replaced, the
gas tank should be dropped, cleaned and sealed, and the car needs
an alternator and a battery, $56.00 at Advance Auto Parts for the
alternator. I will sell the car as is for $2950, or as time allows,
I will start addressing, and repairing these minor issues, and the
price will go up accordingly. As far as trades, I like OLD cars and
trucks, pre 1972, but I will look at anything interesting that runs
and drives. This is an Alabama car, so has no title, cars over 35
years old in Alabama have no title, and have a transferable
registration.
