Vehicle Description
A distinctly beautiful 2-owner Silver Shadow sedan in simply
stunning condition inside and out. This is one of the last of the
Silver Shadows. It can be confidently said that the 1974-76 year
manufactured Silver Shadows were the best of the series as they
incorporated all of the technological and design enhancements
developed over the life of the model (1966-76). This one displays
beautifully in Walnut (metallic) with rich chocolate Connolly hide
interior and mid-tan Wilton wool carpets with chocolate leather
binding. The car is finished with hand-painted gold fine-lines on
the body waist-line and the hub-cap trim rings. The color
combination speaks "English country-side" in the most elegant of
manners. The body on the car is very straight and the paint is
extremely nice. It was a Californian car for most of its life and
then residing it Texas for the last 10 years. So she is very "dry &
clean". Most of the paint is original and presents today like a
very well cared-for original example should. Other than the odd
little chip and mark here and there, the paint is excellent.
Entirely consistent, high in luster and no signs of any over-spray
on any externally fitted part. Please understand, high metallic
colours used by Rolls-Royce in the 70s did not "go the distance"
and chemically broke down after 20 years to evidence loss of shine
and fade. For this car to sport mostly original paint is inarguable
testament to it being a very well looked after example. Notably,
this car has never suffered accident damaged and certainly no rust
issues. The interior of the car is in stunning condition with
excellent condition original Connolly hide leather. The leather has
never been replaced or repaired, with just the right amount of
welcoming patina that is just gorgeous. The leather is soft and
supple. All the wood is in virtually perfect condition with dash
all original and the door cappings never having been redone. Other
than some minor and only mildly noticeable hairline marks, it is
wonderful. "Original wood finishes" in a Silver Shadow is rare to
see these days and is further testament to its cosseted low mileage
existence. The headlining is in nice condition without any of the
"grubbiness" often seen on these wool headliners. The carpet is
also excellent. The deep grain and glossy finish of the rich
grained wood in this example combined with the rich chocolate
interior makes it all very rich and inviting. **For the winning
bidder, a set of genuine Rolls-Royce lambswool mouton rugs are
available We recommend brown accordingly. All interior feature and
functions are fully operational including all electrics - seats,
windows, gauges, clock etc. The A/C blows icy cold and heater
working well. Everything is all so clean and crisp. It has its
original Blaupunkt push button radio between the front seats and
its factory installed Pioneer 8-track cassette in the centre
console. The chrome and bright work is stunning without any pitting
and the rubber around the car is good. Mechanically, the car is in
superior condition and the presentation under the bonnet and under
carriage clearly shows that. It has not been "done-up" for sale but
maintained in original condition. The car underwent all major and
minor services by Park-Ward in 2019 at a cost of some $15,000. This
includes all hydraulics and brakes have been serviced as required
and inspected and tested. The car needs absolutely nothing and is
part of our sale guarantee. The car comes with the correct jack,
tools and operating manual. The car shows some 65,000 miles and
carries all the signs of this being accurate. In actuality, if
someone was to say the car has travelled half these miles, you
would believe it. She is that nice! This is a 10 out of 10 driver
example that needs nothing else doing. It makes for a gorgeous
"weekender" that you could take to your next RR meet with pride and
joy. The car comes very close (if not already) to true Rolls-Royce
