Vehicle Description
1985 Ferrari 308 GTS QV
VIN: ZFFUA13A2F0053561
Engine Number: 640
Paint Code: 300/6 - Rosso Corsa w/ "Boxer" Trim
This 1985 Ferrari 308 GTS QV was completed in September 1984 and
was sold new on November 14 of that same year by Auto Torino Ltd.
of Great Neck, NY. It remained with the original owner until 1990
when it was sold with just over 12,000 miles. Subsequent owners are
documented via the extensive file that accompanies the car. The
file details an excellent service history and It is worth noting
that although the mileage on this thirty-five-year-old car is quite
low, it has never had a long period where it wasn't serviced or
driven. The most recent owner purchased the car in 2010 and
entrusted service work to Professional Auto Tech Inc. in Carson,
CA. They performed the most recent major service (November 2018)
when the odometer read 33,901. The service included timing Belts,
tensioner Bearings, alternator Belt, water pump belt, AC belt,
recharged AC, air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, camshaft cover
gasket set, camshaft seal set, 8 spark plugs, replaced engine oil
dipstick, reseal engine and transmission covers, and replaced all
four tires with Pirelli Cinturatos. Since the aforementioned
service, the oil has been changed and a safety inspection was
performed.
In addition to strong mechanicals, the cosmetics are quite good.
The Rosso Corsa paintwork is in excellent condition and looks
fantastic against the Boxer trim. The removable top fits very well
and the exterior vinyl is in excellent condition. Inside, the black
leather seats have been redone and show as new, while the original
door panels and dash covering are in very good shape. The carpets
show some wear but are serviceable and cheap to replace should that
be your preference. The engine fires right up and makes good power
and the gearbox is smooth once at temperature. As with any Ferrari,
there is quite a bit of value in the ancillary items that
accompanied the car when new. In the case of this car, we believe
it is very complete. Under the hood (front) there is a washer
bottle, spare tire, and battery cover. Inside the trunk are a tool
kit, jack kit, and owner's manuals with an original warranty card
and correct pouch. The final evolution of the 308 was the
Quattrovalvole and 1985 was the final and most desirable year.
