For Sale: 1968 Chevrolet Camaro in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Thus is a very tidy, dialed in beast. It is a strong performer. Restoration was done 2015 and there is a binder of documentation.

EXTERIOR: Great looking car, it presents itself as show quality condition. The body is exceptionally straight. Looking down both sides, looking across the tops of the car there is no waves. It has had full replacement 1/4 panels at the factory seams. The metallic blue paint is evenly laid out, it has a very glossy clear coat finish. No ugly vinyl top. The cowl hood has racing pins. Has front and rear spoilers and painted on SS stripe. In front the grill, emblems, marker lights and bumper look new. The emblems, wheel well trim and door handles look new. The stainless moldings are straight and shiny. In back the tail lights, bumper and gas cap look new. Door jambs are painted very glossy, the weather strips are replaced. Has GM rally wheels- 15x7s in front, 15x10s in back with new BFG tires and trim.

INTERIOR: It is exceptionally nice in this car. I'm sitting in it and just at a glance you can tell all the trim, knobs, upholstery are excellent. The heater controls, original radio, lenses, vents, wood grain trim are excellent. The headliner is tight, visors look new. The console is really nice, has the factory gauges and horseshoe shifter. The dome light and console lights work. Rear package tray and all the trim is excellent. Side panels, arm rests, trim, handles and cranks are excellent. Has a Mallory tachometer in the dash. Nicely upgraded cushion grip steering wheel and embroidered floor mats. Front seats were reupholstered. Unabused, very clean inside.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Correct motor with proper casting codes and date including the heads. Has 4 bolt mains, bored .030 over, forged crank and forged Speed Pro pistons with 10.5-1 compression. Also has forged Uni Comp cam, lifters, timing chain and roller rockers. On top it has Edelbrock intake, Holley 750 carb and Mallory Unilite ignition. The headers are black ceramic Hookers. Has new power brake system. Upgraded BeCool aluminum radiator. Detailed beautifully. The engine is painted to match the car, dressed up with chrome, decals and blue wires. The bay is painted gloss blue/black. Every component looks new or restored.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Very clean solid metal that has neatly applied gray spatter finish paint. The bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb is painted glossy. Has the stickers and new weatherstrip. The battery has been relocated to the trunk and is in a secure box. It also has a spare tire and a car covers thrown in.

UNDERSIDE: The front end has been all rebuilt- new bushings, ball joints etc. It has frame connectors welded in attaching the front to the rear suspension making the car less likely to flex. Looks like it has new shocks and springs in front and back. It has traction bars. The bottom of the motor is clean, that and the trans are painted blue to match the car. Has high torque starter. The transmission is a Turbo 400 wiyh a B&M 2200 stall converter and shift kit. It has a remote trans cooler. New drive shaft and upgraded U-joints. Original 12 bolt rear end which now has new 3.73 Powertrax locker gears and chrome cover. The brakes have been redone they are upgraded in front with drilled and slotted disc brakes. 3 inch custom exhaust with Flowmaster 44 mufflers. The floors are exceptionally clean and neatly painted semi gloss black. The bottom of this car is proper, orderly and clean looking.
