I purchased this car from the widow of the man that owned this car
since 1969 in 2018! It had 49,284 actual miles. It is a survivor
with #s match, born with motor, trans and rear. Includes original
tank sticker found on the tank. We sold it to a Corvette collector
and he had the car judged and certified. The trim tag and stamp pad
were given certification by Al Grenning as being authentic. It was
judged by Bloomington Gold and was certified as a survivor. It
missed the nearly unobtainable Benchmark award by only 2%. It
scored a 93%, it takes 95%. Pages and pages of the judging sheets
are included.
EXTERIOR: Most of the paint is original! It certainly has patina
but it's not too often you can see a 67 Vette with the paint it
left the factory with. The glass and windshield are original. We
just installed brand new correct reproduction tires that match the
original spare. The rally wheels are the originals with correct
codes. Original trim rings with mounting clips (reproductions do
not have clips). The original headlight motors were just rebuilt to
work like new but we had the original patina left alone.
INTERIOR: Original interior- carpet, seats, upholstery etc. All the
gauges work, the clock even ticks. Interior lights work, radio is
crystal clear. It has the optional headrests. The upholstery, door
panels and dash pads are excellent condition. The original carpet
has a hole under the mat. We have original tag from the carpet.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is left all original, not detailed or
painted. It has it's born with 427-435 hp engine with matching
casting codes and dates. Stamped codes and vin match, pad has
original broach marks. The original carbs are included, new correct
carbs are on the car now. Frankly it runs so perfectly we left them
on. Just reach in and hit the key, she fires up. The motor runs
perfectly. When you open all 3 carbs it roars! Has original
alternator. Original valve covers, with new correct valve cover
gaskets. Also has the original filler cap and pcv valve (my
Corvette buddy told me what these sell for, my jaw dropped). We had
it's original radiator recored, has original clutch fan. Original
master cylinder was just rebuilt without changing it's patina. It
has a fresh oil change, has correct oil filter canister.
UNDERSIDE: The spare is the original and it's never been used,
still has ink stamps on the tread. We have turned down $2,500 offer
for the spare. It has the optional off road exhaust. We replaced it
from the center of the car back with a correct welded exhaust
system. This car also has the optional special suspension. The
power steering was rebuilt. The original starter was rebuilt. The
brake system was flushed. Muncie M-21 close ratio 4-speed is vin #
matched to the car. The original rear end with correct FB code is a
4.11 posi. The fuel tank is new, we also still have the original
that the tank sticker was found on.
It's not everyday a survivor 1967 Corvette with 435 hp motor comes
on the market, let alone one that's virtually a 1 owner! These
unrestored Corvettes are climbing to the top of the food chain as
collectables because they are original only once. This is one of the
most desirable and exciting Corvettes ever built. The fastback is
better looking and harder to find then a convertible.
