Vehicle Description
Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 21st year in the
classic and muscle car business. As the 1960's drew to a close,
Pontiac started to shift their focus on performance from the
intermediate-sized GTO to the Firebird, or F-Body, line. These cars
were able to match the straight-line performance of their larger
cousins, with the added benefits of superior handling and braking.
The Trans Am, which topped the Firebird line starting in 1969, went
on to great success as it was one of only a handful of cars that
offered real performance during the 1970's. This stunning 1972
Trans Am is a prime example of Pontiac's commitment to performance
during the 'Malaise Era'. The only engine offered in the 1286 '72
T/A's was this LS5, a round port (7F6 heads) 455 ci torque monster
that can roast the tires with the best of 'em. Additional verve is
provided by a competition valve job, a custom grind hydraulic
roller cam, and a balanced rotating assembly featuring Crower rods
and Ross custom pistons. This meticulously restored, numbers
matching (see 22N524332 VIN derivative in images) brute came loaded
with features and options including power steering (N41), power
front disc brakes (JL2), air conditioning (C60), TH400 automatic
transmission (M40), Heavy Duty suspension (F41), 3.08 Posi axle
(GU4, G80), floor console (D55), auxiliary gauges (U30), tinted
glass (AO1), honeycomb wheels (PO5), and custom trim (Y90). A rare
factory 8-Track tape player has been added to the stock-appearing
stereo (original radio and A/C compressor included). The
show-quality chassis detailing is obvious in the images (red oxide
primer, brake lines, stickers, etc.). Documentation includes build
sheet, PHS, and many receipts. Come by and see what is perhaps the
nicest 1972 Trans Am extant. Street Dreams (830-997-1950) is a full
