Mechanical
Our Camaro ZL1 convertible is powered by the 580 horsepower and 556
lb-ft of torque supercharged and intercooled pushrod 16-valve V-8
LSA engine with an aluminum block and heads and port fuel
injection, backed by a 6-speed manual transmission and with
advanced power train and chassis technologies.
But it was further enhanced by Skips Performance Shop in Sarasota
Performance who added a lower supercharger pulley, cold air
exhaust, higher performance fuel injectors, fresh air kit, and
performance exhaust to deliver 750 horsepower on the dyno and 656
horsepower back to the rear wheels.
This fifth-generation Camaro was designed to accommodate a
convertible model and so it gives the ZL1 convertible, coupe-like
driving dynamics like the tower-to-tower brace under the hood,
transmission support reinforcement brace, under body tunnel brace,
front "X" brace and stiffer cradle as well as rear under body "V"
braces, and additional structural reinforcements in the ZL1
convertible that are designed to improve noise and vibration
characteristics, while also reducing unwanted ride and body
motions.
Interior
The ZL1 is tailored for high-performance driving and is offered
solely with heated leather seats with microfiber inserts and ZL1
logos embroidered on the front head restraints that are comfortable
and deliver the support required in high-load turns on a
racetrack.
Microfiber suede is repeated as an accent on the instrument panel,
adding a richer look to the interior.
Additional interior features include a thick, flat-bottom steering
wheel, alloy pedals, head-up display with unique performance
readouts, a "four-pack" auxiliary gauge system featuring a boost
readout, as well as unique instrument panel and door panel inserts,
ZL1-logo sill plates, great short-throw shifter, steering wheel
audio controls with Bluetooth capability, rear parking assist, rear
camera system, air conditioning, ZL1 Factory Floor Mats, Sirius XM
AM/FM/Satellite, seek-scan Radio, power everything, and more.
Exterior
Our ZL1 Camaro convertible looks as super as she is fast in the
custom great black over red paint scheme with the Power Black
Convertible Soft Top, bulging factory ZL1 hood, front air damn and
rear spoilers, custom Foose aftermarket wheels (the 20" spoke
factory mag wheels are also in the deal) with performance radial
tires.
In addition to that our ZL1 convertible has a host of
chassis-stiffening measures such as hydro formed steel tubes in the
A-pillars, beefed-up door-hinge pillars, and a reinforcement
bracket in the windshield header. The ZL1 swaps out the standard
front chassis V-brace for a beefier four-point X-brace to help keep
the body from twisting on hard launches.
