Vehicle Description
1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass S Custom Resto-Mod
Why This Car Is Special
For all you Oldsmobile lovers, we have a frame off restoration,
with only 8,120 miles on it since the complete rebuild, on a 1970
Oldsmobile Custom S Resto-Mod here at Skyway Classics that you need
to come see, and hear!
Mechanical
The engine bay on our Olds is filled with a Rocket Motor that is
455 cubic inches with a whole lot of go-fast internals. It has been
rebuilt and modified with forged pistons, aluminum cylinder heads,
camshaft and kit, Edelbrock carburetor and intake, MSD Billet
distributor and box, with exhaust flowing thru the Hooker thermal
coated heads and into the dual exhaust system.
Power is transfer back to a Hurst shifted 200R4 overdrive
transmission for better highway fuel economy and a beefy 3.42 POSI
unit to handle off the line starts.
The engine compartment looks great as it is painted, polished, and
detailed and the engine has chrome valve covers, open air cleaner,
alternator, and a J and B Microfinish polished, ball-milled battery
cover and an A/C compressor cover shroud out of aluminum sheet
stock.
The frame also looks super as it was powder coated when it was all
rebuilt with poly bushings, a 2-inch set of drop spindles were
added, as well as disc brakes and a BeCool custom radiator.
Interior
The sweet grey and black custom twin bucket seat interior was
installed by Coachwork and has many neat parts like the custom
center console, unique door panels, package tray, custom billet
dash inserts and console top, door handles, window cranks, billet
shifter, sport steering wheel, accessory aftermarket Autometer
gauges, fire extinguisher, AM/FM stereo radio, and even a
CD/DVD/MP3 player hidden in the glove box with a Sony X amp in the
custom upholstered trunk.
Exterior
This 1970 two door post Cutlass S was purchased from the original
owner in Arizona and treated to a complete frame off restoration in
Illinois including all the body work by John Dornik Auto Body of
Oglesby, Illinois.
The deep PPG Viper Blue with a GM White Pearl with a blue tint
accent custom paint job was done by The Custom Shop in Flanagan,
Illinois.
The Olds also had its door handles shaved, a ram air hood and rear
deck lid spoiler added, new chrome stock rear bumper, custom
painting and air brushing of the body side trim and ghost painting
of stars & rocket symbols on the hood and body of the car.
