Vehicle Description
1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Coupe
Why This Car Is Special
We have a 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Coupe here at Skyway
Classics that is a stunning "Survivor" car that is an unrestored
original car delivered in the fall of 1977. It has the original
paint and Interior with only 45,000 original miles.
In 1978, Edward C. Kennard, general manager of the Cadillac Motor
Division and vice president of General Motors, offered a "special
edition" Biarritz package in five colors and easily recognized by
its unique, padded vinyl roof, wide body moldings, opera lamps,
distinctive Biarritz script, special accent stripes, color
coordinated wheel disks and plush interior appointments with 50/50
pillow type leather seating. It had a list price of over $13,000
when appropriately optioned.
Mechanical
1978 was the last year for the large, front-wheel drive Eldorado
and was truly the end of an iconic automotive era, when bigger was
always better.
The engine is a cast iron block and head V-8 with displacement of
425 cubic inches developing 180 smooth horsepower at 4,000 RPM
backed by an automatic transmission with no known significant
engine or transmission repairs needed since new and is loaded with
all the power options that could be had back then.
The engine compartment also maintains the original factory
appearance with components only replaced or repaired as needed and
the air conditioning blows cold (was so reliable from new that it
was converted to A134 only recently).
Interior
The beautiful Desirable Biarritz package deluxe pillow seat
interior of white leather twin bucket seats is completely original
including the factory plush red carpet. The trunk area is complete
with the space-saving spare, jack, tools and felt-style liners. No
description here will tell you what you need to come see, but I
will sum it up in one word....exquisite!
Exterior
Our survivor Cadillac retains the original Paint and was a One
Owner up until 2005, and the same owner since then. It has the
original most desirable color combinations "Triple White" with red
interior trim offered for the 1978 model year and the white vInyl
top in superb overall condition.
It rides on the factory steel wheels with bright chrome Cadillac
factory hub caps and white wall tires.
Conclusion
The 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Coupe time capsule car here at
Skyway Classics is extraordinarily well cared for and still
maintains the factory showroom appearance.
You simply must come see this investment grade automobile up close
and in person, as the photos do not do justice to what it really
looks like.
Preserved Cadillacs in this condition simply do not come to the
market very often. Here is your opportunity to own one of the
finest 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz's in the country.
