This is an original, numbers-matching 327 4-speed 68 Corvette with
factory air. We could stop right there for lots of people for whom
this car is their dream find. But there are so many fun facts,
we'll continue. It comes with the original warranty book and tank
sticker to verify its authenticity. The car received lots of TLC.
There's a new clutch, new brakes, and a stack of receipts
documenting numerous other items and service. Black leather buckets
seats highlight the interior, and they look resplendent with the
beautiful wood grain 3-spoke wheel. This is a straightforward C3
with a touch of class. As an original 1968 coupe, everything is
where it should be, including those features exclusive to '68s or
early C3s. Such items as the fiber optic light monitors, the unique
door handle buttons, the beautiful chrome bumpers, four red tail
lights with separate backup lights, ignition switch in the dash,
hidden wipers, etc. take you back to the first year of the C3. This
is also the first year for T-tops, and in '68 the rear window was
removable for an open air effect. And then, of course, this is the
last year for the 327 Corvette. The 327 is considered one of the
all-time great small blocks, if not one of the favorite engines of
all time in the collector/performance car world. The Mako Shark
styling of the car was a radical change from the '67, and created a
sensation. This body style would define the Corvette until 1983.
Corvette rallies with the correct hubcaps and trim rings give it
the familiar and well-loved Corvette swagger. Corvette history was
made in 1968 as that was the year Zora Arkus-Duntov was named Chief
Engineer of the Corvette. Only about 35% of the Corvettes produced
in '68 were coupes. This important automobile truly is an
exceptionally rare and desirable classic.
*DISCLAIMER: MAXmotive specializes in collectible classic and
custom vehicles. We have more than 200 vehicles in our collection
and have sold dozens nationwide and even overseas. We recommend
that all buyers who are unable to view a vehicle in person have a
pre-purchase inspection done prior to purchase. Inspections can be
performed by an independent party selected by the buyer. Due to the
age and uniqueness of these special vehicles, it is difficult to
cover all aspects and characteristics of each vehicle's condition
within the limited space available. Thus, pre-purchase inspections
are helpful to all parties involved. The information provided for
