For Sale: 1936 Ford Flatbed Truck in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
This amazing 1936 Ford 1 ton flatbed features the Ford 21-Stud 221
cubic inch flathead V8 it was born with. The prized powerplant was
professionally rebuilt in 1975, has seen limited duty since, and
runs superbly. The original 4-speed manual transmission is also in
place along with the 6.60 ratio rear axle completing the classic,
all-original drivetrain. The truck has a little extra provenance as
well. You can see it in the movie "American Pastoral." Starring
Ewan McGregor and Dakota Fanning, it was yet another popular movie
filmed in Pittsburgh, a location that has become highly favored
with filmmakers. So the graphics on the doors are its "makeup."
They give the truck a nice commercial vehicle vibe, but they are
vinyl and are easily removable if you so choose. Details such as
the period correct fire extinguisher add character. The original
tools are mounted on a display board. And you may have noticed
there's something on the bed. It's a completely rebuilt and running
1913 Stover 8 horsepower hit and miss motor, an item very
collectible by itself. The all-steel body is done in gray and
black. New oak sideboards for the bed are included. The interior is
remarkable for several reasons. The black seat, headliner, and
floor look tough and beautiful at the same time. Gauges for oil
pressure, coolant temp, and amps accompany the center mounted
speedometer. There's even a trip odometer. The craftsmanship and
care this truck was built with is unmistakable. It has been
preserved with the same reverence and care, making this a rare find
and a great opportunity to take part in a real highlight in the
history of Ford Motor Company.
