For Sale: 1964 Volkswagen Bus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

The purpose of a custom vehicle is to have fun. If that's your philosophy, take a look at this. Over a 6 year period, a 1964 VW Bus was shortened, hot-rodded, and restored to produce this one-of-a-kind wheelie machine. The 2.2L flat four has been fortified with hot rod goodies including twin carburetors, an MSD ignition system, and ceramic coated headers to pump out a respectable 330 horsepower. To handle the horses, a Rancho racing transmission was called for duty. The cockpit is a cool combination of custom and function, with a big Autogage racing style tach front and center on the dash. The auxiliary gauges are AutoMeter Pro Comp Ultra Lites set in a custom fabbed diamond plate center console. The blue bucket seats have Infinity speakers mounted right in the headrests to make sure you hear the tunes. An AM/FM/DVD/MP3 receiver gives you plenty to listen to. The paint is two tone blue and white with red pinstriping. Diamond plate covers the bed and the custom storage box. In back is a custom wing. P205/50ZR15 tires in front with big P315/35ZR17 meats in the back wrap around staggered Foose polished forged custom wheels. And yes, there's a set of wheelie bars in the back. Will this little truck lift the front wheels in the spirit of the classic wheelstanders? (Look up Maverick's Little Red Wagon and Chuck Poole's Chuckwagon.) Get behind the wheel, put it in first, set the RPM with the Autogage tach, and see what happens.
