1967 Volkswagen Beetle considered by many experts as "The Gold
Standard of Volkswagen Beetles" and generally the most sought-after
year. The 1967 North American Volkswagen Beetle was the last year
of the original style classic chrome bumpers with over-riders which
provided a nostalgic appearance. Additional featured changes for
the 1967 model were a larger displacement 1500cc motor, 12-volt
electrical system and a dual circuit braking system.
Sold new at Dean-Little Volkswagen in Fitchburg Massachusetts in
1967 to a gentleman from Groton Massachusetts this Beetle remained
under the original ownership until 2016 when it was purchased by a
local collector and current owner with 70,000 original miles.
When purchased this Beetle underwent a mechanical refresh which
included a new clutch, brakes, suspension components and a motor
out reseal.
This Beetle has had one older repaint and shows very well, the
paint still has a full luster with some minor imperfections which
should be expected from a car of this vintage. The front seats have
been recovered but the remainder of the interior appears to be
original. This Volkswagen is a low mile's original car that has
been gone through to provide for carefree driving.
Original surviving rust free Beetles are becoming very rare and
collectable.
