C-Series pickups will be known forever as the first V-8 powered Dodge trucks. The C-Series was a line of pickup trucks sold by Dodge from 1954 to 1960. It replaced the Dodge B series of trucks and was eventually supplanted by the Dodge D series, introduced in 1961.
Unlike the B series, which were closely related to Dodge's pre-war trucks, the C-series was a complete redesign. The cab sat lower by virtue of a new single-piece floor, and the windshield was now a fixed single pane of glass that was canted at a slightly deeper angle. While the all new front clip still had a two-section butterfly hood, the front end sat lower with headlights on the upper ends of each fender peak between a large trapezoidal grille opening inset with two large bars. While Chrysler’s time-honed flathead six engine continued to be standard, the big news was that a 241-cid V-8 engine became optional in pickups during mid-1954.
RB Collection is proud to offer this outstanding 1955 Dodge pickup C1 Series V8 presented with a superb, meticulously maintained restoration. This marvelous pickup came equipped with the 241-cid V8 engine (#VT344-I0532) along with a 3-speed manual transmission. Subject to a comprehensive, nut-and-bolt restoration, it now presents in outstanding condition from front to back. The Blue paint is excellent, with deep reflections and exemplary fit of the body panels. The body is well-detailed with excellent bumpers, grille, and trim pieces. Additionally, the oak wood slats in the bed look like new.
The interior reflects the level of the restoration with bench seat and door panels upholstered in hard-wearing black vinyl in exquisite condition showing almost no signs of use since the restoration was completed. The truck is equipped with a factory restored radio.
