BODY OVERVIEW: The body is clean and straight and in truly
excellent condition. The condition of the body really speaks to the
mileage shown on the odometer. While there are some minor nicks
here and there showing this car has been enjoyed over the years, it
presents well. This car has been garaged since new, so it still
looks sharp!
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: This Mercedes appears to be wearing its
original "Red Metallic" paint. Considering the age of the vehicle,
the paint is in nice condition. While some normal fading has
occurred, Mercedes' "Red Metallic" paint of this era has always
been a sort of copper-red rather than a fire engine red. Get up
close, and you'll see the metallic. Aside from the aforementioned
nicks and dings, the paint has held up well. The hood and trunk
paint are showing the most age of all, as one would expect of the
flat surfaces on a car. Overall, this is a car with plenty of curb
appeal and would considered in the perfect condition to be driven
and enjoyed frequently.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The interior is in shockingly good
condition! MB Tex always holds up so well, and this car being kept
inside helped keep it in excellent condition. Open the door, and
you'll see where this car really shines. While there is some mild
creasing in the vinyl seats from use, this can be expected of any
car this age that has been driven and is very minimal. There is
some minor separation of the material on the rear panel that covers
the soft top. Even the dash is nearly immaculate! The recent
addition of a RetroSound radio makes for easy listening, and looks
at home in the dash. The original radio is included.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under the hood sits the original engine. The
engine fires up easily and runs smoothly! The car rides nicely,
steering feels good, and driving this 450SL is a simple pleasure.
Once you hear this car fire up, there's no doubt that it has been
cared for.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The fact that it is an unrestored,
one-owner car that looks this good! It also has all the original
documents including the data plate and owner's manuals.
