Vehicle Description
This 1991 GMC 1500 Sierra represents a well-preserved example of
the new class of classic trucks. So you get one of the most iconic
looks from a streamlined era, and at the same time, there's the
conveniences you love of having a fuel-injected V8 pickup.
This truck has the crisp sheetmetal of a vehicle that has led a
well-respected life. The red makes a bold first impression, and the
metallic element really is going to make sure it radiates in the
sunshine. This is a premium SLE example, and it looks the part with
the chrome bumpers, full trim, and 15-inch wheels are shining
nicely against the red paint. While this has the look of a premium
pickup, don't forget it's still a true pickup. There's a thick
rubber mat protecting the bed, and there's a proper trailer hitch
to get the big jobs done.
The interior continues the full red attitude and reminds you why
it's great to have a young classic. For example, you still get the
classic bench seat, but now it has a comfy velour and nice
bolstering for added comfort. These GMCs even had a driver's
armrest to really give you an individualized feel. It's loaded with
great features, like power windows, power locks, the factory
two-piece AM/FM/cassette stereo, and factory air conditioning.
There are even nice additions, like newer carpeting and a cover for
the clean dash. GMC's grippy factory wheel is on a tilt column, and
that gives you a full view to the factory gauges with large speedo
and handy tach.
The highly stock and well-done presentation continues under the
hood. GM's 5.7-liter V8 is one of the best motors for both power
and durability, and so it only gets better on a fuel-injected
example like this modern classic. It has a very original look,
right down to the decals. But as you dig deeper, you can also
recognize the signs of the right maintenance, including newer belts
and hoses. This good care is reflected in the way the V8 fires up
nicely and runs strong. The four-speed automatic transmission with
overdrive makes this a great truck for near or far. The same goes
for nice features like the power steering, Cooper Cobra tires, and
power brakes with discs up front.
This truck doesn't look or feel like it has nearly three decades
under its belt. But that does mean this well-preserved pickup is
just about ready for classic insurance and plates in many places.
