Vehicle Description
This Fremont, California built Chevrolet C20 Big-Block Cheyenne
Custom Camper fleetside 3/4 ton truck was special ordered from
Womack Mitchell Motor Company of El Centro, California and
delivered on March 17, 1972. This original owner and his son owned
this beautiful Chevy truck for nearly 48 years. Original bill of
sale/installment sale contract and both sets of factory original
keys are included with sale. Built at the Fremont, California
factory 'Z' code and lived in El Centro, California, was always
garaged, extremely well-cared for, and is in excellent condition.
This factory original big-block 400 (L47) with factory original 4
speed manual (M20) truck has 76,914 original miles and has no rust.
None. The body panels are all original with never an accident and
never smoked inside the immaculate cab. With the exception of the
factory AM-P/Button radio (U63) not working, every factory
installed item from the auxiliary fuel tank (NL2), 4-season air
conditioning (C60), power lok rear axle (G87) the auxiliary battery
(TP2) to the tool and stowage box (VK2) operate and function as if
they were brand new. In fact, the original camper wiring (UY1) is
still intact. A few other rare option numbers from the service
parts identification label are the California Vehicle Reg. (YF5),
below-eyeline mirrors (D29), rear step bumper (V43), and comfortilt
steering wheel (N33). Every electrical item works like new;
including the reverse lights, cigarette lighter, and interior cab
light and cargo light, and all gauges (including the main & aux
fuel switch) work perfectly. The Trico 'Made in USA' windshield
wiper arm and housing are factory original. The factory original
spare tire carrier holds what looks to be an original nylon tire.
In 2004, the truck was repainted maintaining the factory original
yellow/medium green (574) and still looks new. The below-eyeline
mirror brackets are factory original, but the mirrors themselves
were replaced by the son with chrome.
