This 1969 MGB GT is a proper European classic driver's machine that
has been given some nice upgrades to really enhance the sporty look
and feel of this coupe.
The GT was all about adding both style and substance. It's a coupe
that has better aerodynamics than its drop-top sibling. The shape
was created by Pininfarina, and the glossy red paint loves to show
off the well-done curves. This is an earlier MGB, and so that means
a chrome rear bumper and grille. The front bumper was deleted for a
sleek style that also saves some weight up front for better
distribution. But what really sets it apart are the wheels. Those
are proper center-lock wire wheels we love to see on classic sports
cars, and so these shine exceptionally bright to really get
people's attention.
GT stands for Grand Touring, and that's what this interior was made
to do. After all, you have nicely bolstered buckets seats for
comfort, extra interior space and glass for a roomy feeling, and
the rear seats fold down so that there's plenty of room for
luggage. There are even nice touches, like how the front seatbelts
coordinate with the exterior red. The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita
steering wheel feels grippy in your hands, the gearstick is where
you right hand wants to rest, and the full Smits gauges are crisp
and clear. This feels like a proper European classic built for
driving.
The engine bay has the look of a solid investment. You get MG's
hardy 1800cc motor, and this one shows plenty of freshness and
fortification. This includes the right new components, like the
distributor, wires, hoses, and gaskets. Cooling is improved with an
added oil cooler and upgraded radiator. The motor has an upgraded
Weber carb, Pierce intake, and polished header. The total package
fires up eagerly and runs strong like a well-done rebuild. The
four-speed manual transmission gives you full control over the
motor. Plus, the nimble steering and front disc brakes deliver that
ideal classic European sports car driving experience.
The MGB GTs already have a unique look. And this example has been
upgraded to make it even more distinct and a stronger driver. So
that makes for an irresistible package you need to get your hands
on right now. Call today!!!
