1971 Jaguar XKE Series II 4.2L Coupe For Sale - Tastefully
Upgraded, Concours Winner LMC is very proud to offer for sale this
1971 Jaguar XKE Series II 4.2L Fixed Head Coupe Federal regulations
in the United States, Jaguar's most important market, drove some of
the Series II's changes, including revised lighting and the shift
to a pair of Stromberg carburetors in place of the three SU units
of earlier E-Types. Externally, the air intake substantially
increased in size, a change masked by larger, full-width bumpers
that were matched at the rear to meet U.S. low-speed impact
requirements. The well-proven 4.2-liter XK six-cylinder engine was
little changed, although a higher-capacity water pump was fitted,
taking advantage of the enlarged radiator air intake and better
adapting the E-Type to warmer climates. The chassis got bigger
Girling brakes with three-piston calipers at the front and
two-piston calipers at the rear, while the interior now included
reclining seats as standard equipment. In short, the steady
evolution of the E-Type meant that buyers of the Series II got a
much better, more comfortable and reliable Jaguar-attributes that
complemented its already well-established reputation for superior
performance, handling, and appearance. This Jaguar coupe was built
on October 21st,1970 and then shipped to New York on December 2nd,
1970. It is presented today in the stunning combination of
Opalescent Silver Blue with Dark Blue leather interior. Under the
hood, it is powered by its numbers matching 4.2-liter DOHC
six-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed manual gearbox, and
four-wheel disc brakes provide the stopping. Finishing the look of
this classic coupe, are a set of chrome wire wheels fitted with
correct Michelin tires. This highly desirable Series II from 1971
is beautifully presented after benefitting from a thorough
restoration by a Jaguar's concours judge. During its restoration,
it was tastefully upgraded with some of which include: covered
headlights, motif bar, cam covers, smaller turn signals, air
cleaner assembly and much more! The paint has been wet sanded and
polished to a very high luster and show quality finish. The
interior looks classic and elegant with dark blue leather
complemented by the thin wood steering wheel. The undercarriage and
engine bay have been detailed to show quality. Due to the high
restoration quality, the car was brought to the prestigious San
Diego Jaguar's Concours 2017 where it scored 991.9/1000 points.
Accompanying the sale of this coupe are Jaguar heritage
certificate, tool kit, restoration receipts, judging sheets and
much more. A classic Jaguar coupe should be an essential on every
sports car collectors list to own. This one having been fully
restored, notable provenance and documentation is a great example
for the discerning collector. Additional Details: 1971 JAGUAR E
