An unmolested , all original 1956 Belair Sports Sedan that needs a total restoration. Most sheet metal in good shape.
This car has the original 265 cu in engine, 4bbl Rochester carb, dual exhaust, combined with a 2 speed powerglide transmission. This was promoted by Chevrolet as the":Power Pack
option" I have owned for 20+ years, mostly garaged, and seasonally driven up to 3 years ago. Have made the following improvements while I have owned, using ONLY Factory correct replacement parts: We rebuilt the Master cylinder along with brakes, wheel cylinders, and brake hoses. New rear leaf springs, as well as front and rear shocks. Front and back seats were redone using factory correct color and style for the car. New factory correct color and style carpeting. Had the Rochester 4bbl Carb rebuilt as well as yearly tune ups. Car has an after market AM/FM radio, but have the original AM tube radio in the trunk for reinstallation if desired..Exhaust system was replaced, keeping the power pack style mufflers.
As noted in the photos, the exterior condition of the vehicle is showing its age, but the roof, hood, trunk deck and door skins have no major rust. Rocker panels, body mounts will definitely have to be replaced. Chrome needs replating. all body mouldings are there. This model BelAir has lots of chrome and when redonw will be stunning. Passenger side glass is cracked, but all remaining glass is intact and all original.
