JUDGED PERFECT TWICEMULTIPLE REGIONAL AND LOCAL SHOW AWARD WINNER
Following the 1961-63 Bullet Bird, the fourth-generation 1964-66
Ford Thunderbird was informally known as the Flair Bird or Glamor
Bird and featured handsome, all-new styling. Some innovations
intended for the new Thunderbird line were delayed for the launch
year and only reached production in 1965. Among them were new front
disc brakes made standard by 1965 and eye-catching sequential rear
turn-signal indicators, which faced approval delays in certain
states. Sales remained strong, despite significant internal
competition from the newly introduced Mustang. As always, the
Thunderbird offered plenty of power and delivered effortless
cruising with the standard 4-barrel 390 CI V-8 engine uprated to
315 horsepower for 1966.Stunning in Red over Red with a White
power-operated convertible top, this fabulous rotisserie-restored
1966 Ford Thunderbird Convertible is simply a top-quality example
throughout. Preservation is exceptional, with this Thunderbird
benefiting handsomely from the professional care it has received
under the prior owner in Arizona. In addition to predictably having
won multiple local and regional-level shows, this 1966 Thunderbird
Convertible is a former Vintage Thunderbird Club International
(VTCI) 1st Place award winner with two perfect 300-point judging
scores to its credit.A very interesting and unusual,
lightly-optioned example, this Thunderbird is nonetheless well
equipped with power brakes and power steering, plus power-operated
windows, vent windows, trunk release and convertible top. Other
choice features include an AM/FM radio with power antenna, along
with a clock, Swing-Away steering wheel, cruise control, and
safety-belt warning light. A set of deluxe mag-style wheel covers,
whitewall tires, and a fully trimmed spare and trunk compartment
nicely finish off this outstanding Thunderbird. Come see it for
yourself and make this exceptional 1966 Ford Thunderbird
convertible yours for spring driving enjoyment and the summer show
season!
