Since the 1970 Oldsmobile 442 is such a big motor muscle machine,
you already know an all-black package is the best way to go. So to
find a true power Olds with its numbers-matching 455 V8 and so
nicely priced is the kind of deal you need to dig into.
A real-deal 442 like this has an awesome look. Twin power bulges in
the hood, nicely flared fenders, a fastpack-style profile, and a
rear bumper that makes way for the big dual exhaust tips - this
really gets the muscle car look right. Now you take all of this and
have it dipped in black. So this one really has the right attitude.
And everything looks correct, right down to the details, like the
442 badging and Olds Super Stock wheels. That's why it's a nice
total package for someone looking to drive a mean streak.
Inside, the blackout theme continues. But where the exterior was
upgraded for muscle car prowess, the interior has been preserved
for classic car status. The factory-correct black looks highly
original on everything from the carpeting, to the button-top trim
of the seats. In fact, if you enjoy vintage style, this one pleases
in the details, like the premium wood-like trim and the AM/FM radio
with separate 8-track (currently display only.) Plus, as a
real-deal 442, this is set up to be a driver's machine. You have
buckets seats, a center console, and the grippy Olds sport steering
wheel on a tilt column. And the upgraded tach goes quite nicely
with the iconic Hurst dual gate shifter.
Under the hood is the numbers-matching 455 cubic-inch V8. And since
this is such an important powerhouse from the muscle car era, it's
great to have this one preserved in such a survivor-quality
appearance. But as untouched as this one may look at first glance,
there's a lot more going on here. The mighty V8 inhales deeper with
a Holley four-barrel carburetor. It exhales with bigger power and
authority as headers feed a very straight set of pipes on the
glasspack-style dual exhaust. And the way this big motor fires up
and runs with confidence reaffirms that it has received the right
maintenance over the years. The strong TH400 three-speed automatic
transmission feeds a 12-bolt Positraction rear end. Plus,
reinforced rear arms and a sway bar give you a confident feeling on
the road. But as a true Olds, you also get nice cruising features
like power steering and power brakes w/discs up front.
This is a muscle car legend with all the right trimmings. So at a
price like this, you know you need to hurry to grab this 442. Call
