Beautiful 1949 Buick 70 Roadmaster Convertible now for sale at Left Coast Classics. This lovely example is finished in pretty Bahama Blue and a proper red leather interior. It was frame-off, nut/bolt restored in the early 2000s, and includes quite literally a trunk full of documentation, receipts, reference books, papers, and awards. It is truly a breathtaking example that any collector would be proud to own.
The iconic inline 150HP 8-cylinder, overhead-valve Buick Fireball "Dynaflash Eight" 320.2ci Dynaflow engine was fully rebuilt and runs perfectly moving all 4,370 lbs of this magnificent icon effortlessly down the road. Shifting is tight and accurate with its stock, rebuilt automatic. It handles as it must have new with excellent suspension and responsive braking. An electric fan was added to push extra air through when needed, especially at parades and in traffic. all in all, this is a wonderful driving Roadmaster!
The exterior is razor straight and was professionally refinished in stunning Bahama Blue. The paint is smooth and glassy, color sanded and polished to likely better-than-factory. The trim was all restored and it was reassembled with all new rubber. Essentially it looks nearly new, even after 15+ years. The right, rear lower stainless was damaged and repaired since a replacement could take some time to find. Ultimately the new owner may want to eventually replace as one becomes available. Since it is at a lower area it isn't noticeable unless one is looking for it. Otherwise, this is nothing short of a breathtaking exterior as the photos show.
It's period interior artistically handled by Jenkins Interiors with Minaglia Upholstery. It is a stunning work of art, beautifully installed with a professional fit and finish. The trunk is equally pretty, stunningly detailed with fully refurbished spare, jack, wrench, rugs, panels, and insulation and full of documentation, receipts, reference books, papers, and plaque.
