1966 Ford Mustang Convertible Total Restoration
Car History
The introduction of the Mustang in 1964 created a new class of
automobile known as the pony car. The Mustang's styling, with its
long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host
of competition including Camaro, Firebird, Cougar and others.
The 1966 Ford Mustang was the highest production Mustang in all the
years it has been in production.
We have a 1966 Mustang Convertible hear at Adventure Classics that
has been totally restored just a few hundred miles ago. It is a "C"
code Mustang that has the 289 cubic inch engine that most purists
want.
Engine & Drivetrain
Our Mustang has the "C" code 289 cubic inch engine that had 200
horsepower. Ours is restored and painted the correct Ford Blue as
well as the valve covers and factory air cleaner.
It has everything in the painted and detailed engine compartment
looking like it just got off the assembly line, from the correct
factory exhaust manifolds, power steering, to all the belts and
hoses too.
It is backed up by a 4-speed transmission and has a single exhaust
system flowing out the back lower body panels.
Interior
The 66 Stang has a nice new black & white Pony bucket seat interior
with black carpet and floor mats, wood sport steering wheel,
seatbelts, 4-speed transmission shifter, a great simulated
woodgrain dash with all factory gauges, stereo system, and
headliner.
Exterior
The restoration on this Mustang was extensive. It has a refreshed
great white paint job, dual mirrors, great stainless trim, 289
emblems, good body panel fitment, and looks brand new.
It rides on steel wheels with wire wheel covers and white wall
tires. You will also notice a new black power top to set it
off.
Conclusion
The restored 1966 Convertible we have here at Adventure Classics is
a perfect example of the performance image the Mustangs enjoyed
when they were new. Classic lines, great Pony interior, 289 engine,
and wire wheel covers and white walls really makes this a true
classic car to add to you collection.
