Vehicle Description
Up for sale is a beautiful 1964 Ford Ranchero. This car is sporting
original sheetmetal, and has been a lifetime west coast car with no
chassis rust or damage. This car was built at the San Jose, CA
plant in 1964 and was born with a 260ci V8 which was upgraded years
later to the current 289ci. The paint is very nice on the car with
only a few small cracks and a 1" bubble on the tailgate. Bumpers
front and rear were replaced with fresh chrome. It has a very deep
shine and has been beautifully detailed. It is very presentable and
looks pretty darn good for being 55 years old! This car is a true
survivor in every sense of the word. The only rust on the car is
very light rusting in the lower rear cab where it meet the bed from
car wash water getting trapped in the lower area, car was a life
long Southern CA car until 2005 when it was moved to garaged
storage here in Arizona.
The 289 and C-6 Transmission make a great combination. Everything
works as it should. This car was owned and maintained by a lifelong
aircraft engineer and pilot so everything was religiously
maintained. He rode Harleys back and forth to work everyday and
this was his date night and weekend ride. The 289 has always had
the oil changed every 3,000 miles with Pennzoil only. Carb was also
just rebuilt. The custom Cragar Mags are in good shape and so
period correct!
The car is a rare thing to see these days with the disposable world
of automobiles. This was a true piece of Detroit Steel built in
Sunny California! Give me a call to discuss. Jon Morley
