This is a genuine big block SS Chevelle born mulsanne blue with
white interior. It also has very desirable factory options- cowl
induction, air conditioning, gauges, console and more.
I first bought this car in 2014 from an elderly man that owned it
for many years. He swore that the mileage was original at 39,000.
It now has 40,634.
EXTERIOR: Factory code 26 Mulsanne blue, very desirable. The white
stripes are correctly painted on. Also has very desirable cowl
induction, not just the raised hood but it actually has the flapper
door. The body is in really good shape. This is an older paint job
and there's no signs of rust, bubbles or cracking. Appears to be
original quarter panels, bottom of the doors and fenders are clean.
The metal flake is laid out nice and paint is polished glossy and
smooth. The stripes are smooth to the touch. 15 inch Cragar wheels
with Mickey Thompson tires they look brand new. They really add
some bling to the car, they're fatter in the back. The bumpers,
trim and moldings are all very good, at least a seven out of 10.
Has original weather strips. Original clear windshield helps
justify low miles.
INTERIOR: Appears well cared for and unabused. The white upholstery
is slightly dirty, not brand new but it's not beat up either. The
dash area is very good original, dash pad is excellent, heater
control panel is real nice. It has the factory gauges including
tachometer. Has original center console with horseshoe shifter, a
new aluminum insert wood set it off nicely. Has the owner's manual
in the glovebox and a retro stereo in the factory hole. The
headliner is tight as a drum, the dome light works. Carpet is
excellent.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is a genuine big block car with a non
original 454 motor. Overall everything appears stock- the
manifolds, valve covers etc. It looks like it has been maintained,
there are some new items like distributor cap, wires, fuel pump,
alternator. It is a factory air conditioning system that looks
complete. It's been updated to R134 freon. It also has power
steering and power brakes.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Clean metal has been spatter painted. I looked
up inside the quarters with a flashlight they are original, I
didn't see any splices. The jamb looks like it's the original
paint, the factory seams and spot welds are still crisp. The spare
is an original Wide Oval tire that has never been used! It still
has the ink on the tread and it's on an SS wheel. The tire is
probably worth a lot of money to the right person.
UNDERSIDE: The bottom of this car looks solid and original,
maintained when needed. Has the F-41 suspension which includes sway
bars and boxed control arms. The front end components look good.
Has original Turbo 400 automatic, looks fresh. Original 12 bolt
rear end. The dual exhaust system is recent. Has disc brakes in
front, they look recent. E-brake cables are hooked up. Floors,
rockers, braces, lower 1/4s look solid.
This SS has a lot to offer at a very affordable price! Consider the
colors and options when comparing.
